Patek Philippe “Nautilus” Anniversary editions

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the “Nautilus”, Patek Philippe launched the reference 5711 in 2006, featuring a slightly larger case design. Adding one millimetre to the case compared to the original reference 3700 and launched with a classic blue dial, it varied with a three-part case that was slightly thicker as well (from 7.6 mm. on the 3700 to 8.3 mm. on the 5711) and equipped with the calibre 324. In 2012, the manufacture added a new dial colour, this time with a white dial.

In 2016 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the “Nautilus”, a platinum version was launched featuring a logo at 6 o’clock to mark the milestone as well as baguette diamond markers and was limited to 700 examples.

During Watches and Wonders 2021, to the great astonishment of the collectors market, Mr. Thierry Stern, Patek Philippe’s CEO, announced that the reference was being discontinued this year and a final edition model would be launched this time featuring a green dial and a border around the date window.

Two models were launched including a stainless steel version with baguette indexes, known as Ref. 5711/1300A. This surprise announcement created a frenzy and collectors worldwide rushed to their authorised dealers to secure an allocation knowing the watch would only be produced for a year. While exact production numbers are not known, demand will always far exceed supply making this last-edition 5711 “Green” probably one of the hardest to get and the hottest watch on the current market.
